A Penny Will Solve Our Debt Crisis…

This Republic’s debt situation is beyond crisis. It is at critical mass. It is about to destroy this nations economy and plunge us into a depression the likes of we dare not mention. Don’t hold your breath waiting until September (or any date beyond that) for Barack Hussein Obama to provide a solution much less a plan to fix our debt crisis.

That solution is here. Congressman Connie Mack (R) FL has devised a very practical and straightforward proposal that will not only eliminate our debt, but it will actually produce a surplus in our budget. Listen to Congressman Mack on Hannity:

The baseline Congressman Mack refers to is this: in DC the budget starts with an increase in spending of 7.5 percent on everything. It’s no wonder we are in such a mess. If you would budget at home in this fashion, bankruptcy and disgrace would await you rather quickly.

The beauty of Mack’s plan is that it does not take away 1 percent from current spending levels or “rate of growth” (then we would raise spending by 6.5 instead), it operates on a baseline of 0. That it, we would cut real spending 1 percent.

This would cut true spending by over 7 trillion dollars..!

I can already hear the bleeding hearts of liberal academia whaling that this would balance the budget “on the backs of the poor”.

Consider this: families from across the economic spectrum have been forced to make frequent, often draconian adjustments to their budgets just to survive…a hell of a lot more than 1 percent to be sure.

Is the federal government not wantonly wasting trillions at the expense of the poor they proclaim to support..? Such hypocricy..! If we as responsible citizens have to trim our spending in order to meet our economic reality, why should the government be the exception? Why should the feds be allowed to recklessly spend our money without the slightest regard for fiscal discipline? Support is beginning to build, Senators Marco Rubio (R) Fl and Rand Paul (R) KY has pledged their support for the penny budget plan.

The answer is obvious: the federal government must reign in its spending addiction and adopt the only plan in existence that will take us back on the path of solvency. We don’t need the spectre of the economic grim reaper over our heads – or the heads of our children one one second. Let’s rally around a plan that is practical and logical. We at SFC support Congressman Mack and this bold plan.
